Words from our Members

**************************************

Our joy continues from this past month’s celebration of Purim to that of Pesakh in just a short time.  They are a month apart but seem so much shorter, since the eating of all the “goodies” and good feelings linger on well after those days themselves.  We’ve heard the M’gillah and sang those merry, merry songs, and for some, keep humming along.  Of course, preparing for Pesakh is much more extensive with, once again, getting everything ready for the first Seder.  Reviewing and learning the important parts and the great songs of the Haggadah is, indeed, more extensive but certainly rewarding and spirited.

At the start of the school sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays, we sing together.  So we can be ready for the Seder, the fourteen steps of the Haggadah is the first of numerous musical selections on the “hit parade”.  The Kiddush and all the Brachot are reviewed along with the singing of the Arba Koosh’yote, the four questions, Avadim Ha’yeenu, V’hee Sheh’amdah, Da’yainoo, to wet our appetites, and Ailee’yahoo HaNavee, Adeer Hoo, Ehkhad Mee Yodai’a, and Khad Gad’ya, to conclude in a rousing fashion.  Sound familiar? Of course.  Would you like a little refresher for these and maybe some others?  Speak to me; Sing with me; Come and listen to our students and join along – get ready for making your own Seder a very musically special and memorable one.  If you have a real favorite tune for the Haggadah, I would like to hear it – I might not know it, but like it a lot, and use it myself.  Let the joy continue!  From my wife Alice, myself, and our family to yours – a delightful Hag Samai’akh!  Have a great Pesakh songfest!
