THE DEBIT CARD HAS
ARRIVED!
It has now become easier to help with the grocery gelt synagogue fundraiser:
ShopRite has a Debit Card!!!!
What does this mean?
Well, it is easier to use than the grocery certificates so hopefully more of you will take advantage of the opportunity when you go shopping. The debit card can be purchased in $50 amounts and you can use it every time you go to the store. The groceries you buy are deducted from your card just as if you were using an ATM card! How much easier can it be?!
Easy to use AND it makes money for our synagogue! So stop by the office today and purchase your grocery gelt debit card.
scrip - Help Support Our Synagogue
Dear
Synagogue Member,
We are
participating in a powerful fundraising opportunity called eScrip.
What is
eScrip?
eScrip
is a hassle-free way for our synagogue to raise funds through everyday
purchases made at eScrip merchants.
How
does it work?
eScrip
and hundreds of merchant partners have created a system that rewards customer
loyalty by
contributing a percentage of purchases to your
chosen group. You shop the way you like to shop for
groceries, clothing, travel and entertainment.
It’s simple and convenient, all you need to do is register your grocery club
card and debit/credit card(s).
Here are a
few of the many merchants that participate in eScrip
American Airlines Flight Certificates

Question you
may have…
What about
airline miles and other rewards associated with these cards?
You will continue to earn airline miles, special bonuses, and other rewards
associated with these cards. The eScrip donation you
earn has nothing to do with the other benefits that you currently receive. This
is the beauty of registering all the cards you frequently use.
Will
participation in the eScrip program prevent me from
getting my usual club card discount at the cash register- even if I pay with a
check or cash?
No, all club card discounts remain in place and run in conjunction with our
program.
What about
privacy and security of my personal information?
ESI places a tremendous value on the relationships it has with eScrip program participants across the country. Safeguarding
personal information is one of our highest commitments. ESI will not license,
sell, exchange or distribute any specific information about its eScrip participants to any third parties who are not
directly involved in the eScrip program. By
participating in the eScrip program, you are
authorizing ESI to use information relating to your registered card
transactions for the limited purposes of processing rebates to your designated
organization and providing cumulative reports to your organization. No purchase
details are given to ESI for the eScrip program. For
additional information read our privacy policy.
So -
Simple Registration-Register Today!
Log on to www.escrip.com and go to "sign up", or see
our fundraising coordinator for details.
Designate our
group to receive contributions. Our Group ID is 500006560. Register your grocery club
cards from a participating merchant -- and your debit, ATM and credit cards if
you wish. That's it! Visit eScrip
merchants to shop. It's automatic! We can potentially receive hundreds of
dollars from your participation alone!
If you have any additional questions, please give Casey a call in the synagogue office at 732-367-1677.
Help
Your Synagogue and the Environment at the Same Time
There
is a new and painless way to raise funds and to contribute to Ahavat Achim. Recently, a collection box has been placed in
the lobby for used and discarded inkjet and toner cartridges. These cartridges will be collected and
remanufactured by Cartridge World, a new enterprise in the Monmouth/Ocean
County area. For each cartridge of any
type collected, a cash contribution will be made to Ahavat
Achim. Since
each cartridge can take up to 400 years to begin to break down in a landfill,
you will also be actively contributing to save the environment.
“The
cartridges are not broken, they are just empty.”
Anyone
interested in contributing larger quantities than will comfortably fit into the
collection box can contact Norman Friedman of Cartridge World at 732-547-1212
or 732-920-1774, or visit the store at 205 Brick Mall, Brick, NJ (corner of
Brick Blvd. and Chambers Bridge Rd.)

Congregation Ahavat Achim is a drop-off location for Operation Open A.R.M.S.
Thank you for your past
contributions to Operation Open A.R.M.S.
Congregation Ahavat Achim remains a drop-off
location, so please continue to show your support for those who are serving in
our Armed Forces.
Remember,
the goal is to provide comfort packages to all branches of the military.
Travel
size items are needed such as: Bug spray (with deet),
toothbrushes,
toothpaste,
greeting cards, gum, crackers, batteries, suntan lotion, razors, shaving gel,
mouthwash, hard candy, lip balm, and socks.
Look for the marked box in the synagogue lobby.

Bat Shalom
Hadassah is looking for women under forty-five to form a sub-chapter under our
charter. Hadassah helps raise funds for
Hadassah Medical Organization, for Children at Risk, for Youth Aliyah, and other programs in Israel. It also helps raise money for
programs here at home, such as Young
Judea. In addition, Hadassah helps
educate women on various health issues.
Moreover, Hadassah is a social network, where women can make friends for
life, while helping others. Hadassah
becomes your family, there in good times and bad. Please call our president Susan Goldman at
732-833-1151.
We are also
happy that Southern Region has opened our chapter to women over forty-five
living in Howell. If you are interested in joining our chapter,
please call Toby Chalnick at 732-833-1492
