WE NEED YOUR INPUT:
The Futures Committee is hard at work
planning events the congregation will enjoy. We are currently looking into the
possibility of a congregational bus trip or two.
As this is a big undertaking, we would
like to know of your interest.
Please send your response to the synagogue office or by e-mail to
editor@cong-ahavatachim.org.
Please number in order of preference (#1 =
First choice) and/or write in your
suggestions. We would love to hear from you.

Dear Member,
To
properly observe the Passover festival, every Jewish family is required to sell
their chometz.
The
process is simple – fill out the enclosed form making Rabbi Klein your
agent or representative. Rabbi Klein will, in turn, sell the leavened products
stored away in designated closets and rooms to a non-Jew. In this way, every Jew fulfills the
required “mitzvah” not to have leaven (chometz) in his/her
possession.
It
is customary to contribute to a special Passover Fund call Moat Hittim. The proceeds are then distributed by the
Jewish Community Center for use by Jews in need. Please make your contribution payable to
CONGREGATION AHAVAT ACHIM and send your check with the enclosed form, no
later than Friday, April 11, to:

scrip - Help
Support Our Synagogue
Dear Synagogue
Member,
We are
participating in a powerful fundraising opportunity called eScrip.
What is
eScrip?
eScrip is a
hassle-free way for our synagogue to raise funds through everyday purchases
made at eScrip merchants.
How
does it work?
eScrip and hundreds
of merchant partners have created a system that rewards customer loyalty by
contributing
a percentage of purchases to your chosen group. You shop the way you like to
shop for
groceries,
clothing, travel and entertainment. It’s simple and convenient, all you
need to do is register your grocery club card and debit/credit card(s).
Here are a
few of the many merchants that participate in eScrip

Question you
may have…
What about
airline miles and other rewards associated with these cards?
You will continue to earn airline miles, special bonuses, and other rewards
associated with these cards. The eScrip donation you earn has nothing to do
with the other benefits that you currently receive. This is the beauty of
registering all the cards you frequently
use.
Will
participation in the eScrip program prevent me from getting my usual club card
discount at the cash register- even if I pay with a check or cash?
No, all club card discounts remain in place and run in conjunction with our
program.
What about
privacy and security of my personal information?
ESI places a tremendous value on the relationships it has with eScrip program
participants across the country. Safeguarding personal information is one of
our highest commitments. ESI will not license, sell, exchange or distribute any
specific information about its eScrip participants to any third parties who are
not directly involved in the eScrip program. By participating in the eScrip
program, you are authorizing ESI to use information relating to your registered
card transactions for the limited purposes of processing rebates to your designated
organization and providing cumulative reports to your organization. No purchase
details are given to ESI for the eScrip program. For additional information
read our privacy policy.
So -
Simple Registration-Register Today!
Log on to www.escrip.com and go to "sign up", or see
our fundraising coordinator for details.
Designate our
group to receive contributions. Our Group ID is 500006560. Register your grocery club
cards from a participating merchant -- and your debit, ATM and credit cards if
you wish. That's it! Visit eScrip merchants to shop. It's
automatic! We can potentially receive hundreds of dollars from your
participation alone!
If you have any additional questions, please give Casey a call in the synagogue office at 732-367-1677.
