Jewish Community Center –
Congregation Ahavat Achim
Board of Directors
It is time
once again to think about who will lead the Congregation into the new
year. It is time to elect the board
members to manage the future direction of our synagogue. This is indeed still a very exciting
time! Membership continues to expand,
bringing new ideas and renewed vigor. Our Youth Programs continue experiencing
a resurgence in members, energy and commitment that has not been seen in quite
a long time. The variety of programs
that are offered continue to be strong.
We have had our ground-breaking ceremony for the building
renovation/expansion project, and we are expecting to commence work in earnest
shortly. This is your opportunity to
provide input into things that should really matter to you. We encourage your participation. Consider becoming a board member. There are four seats that are to be filled,
three of which are for three-year terms and one which is for a one-year term.
The Board
needs people who have sufficient desire and motivation to devote the necessary
energy, time and effort for monthly board meetings and other projects. Prior experience is not required. If you would like to become a board member or
to nominate someone, or if you have any questions about what it would take,
please feel free to contact any member of the Nominating Committee at your
earliest convenience. We’d be happy to
speak with you.
Each
candidate must complete the Candidate’s Statement (next page) and submit it to
the Nominating Committee before election time.
Election to
the Board of Directors will occur at the general Congregation meeting on
